Got questions about living at Laurent? Find out everything you need to know about our student accommodation by checking out our most frequently asked questions. Whether you’re unsure about moving logistics, living costs, leases, or another aspect about of living in Laurent student apartments, these questions include all the essential information you’ll need before moving in. What is included in my rent?

Heat, Wi-Fi, furniture in your apartment/room, and access to private facilities and amazing amenities are all covered as part of your rent.

Do I have to be a student to live at Laurent?

Yes, you do! You must be actively enrolled as a full or part–time student at any post-secondary education. You will be required to provide student status as part of your application process. 

Is there a concierge and security?

Yes, there is! We want you to feel safe, comfortable and happy living at Laurent.   

Laurent also has fully integrated SMART security, so you can scan your phone to access the building, elevator, your unit, even your bedroom! And if you forget your phone, no worries, you will also have a PIN that works the same way.

How does the billing of utilities work?

We’ve partnered with CARMA to take the guesswork out of utilities. Just set up an account online and get billed your proportionate share of utilities every month.  

Our building is sub-metered by unit, so your bill is not affected by how much your next-door neighbour uses! 

Can I pick my roommate? What if we don't get along?

Yes, you can put in a request for a specific roommate, and we will do our best to accommodate the request. Roommate matching is a part of the application process, and we want to ensure you have the best experience living here. We’ll ask you a few questions and do our best to match you with a student who has similar interests.  

All roommates must complete a roommate agreement together so that we can establish unit expectations for cleanliness, common space use, and anything needed to help you all feel safe and comfortable at Laurent! 

Is Laurent co-ed and how does this work?

Yes, it is. At Laurent, we strive to provide a safe and comfortable living experience for all students.Tenants can request gendered or gender–inclusive housing at the application process. Talk with our leasing team if this is important to you!

Do you accept pets?

We love animals too, but there are no four-legged friends allowed at Laurent. However, all service animals are welcome.

When is my rent due?

Rent is due the 1st of every month. Rent can be paid via your resident portal on StarRez. Please contact the leasing office for more information.

Is there an application fee?

Yes, there is a non refundable $30 application fee.

Do the apartments include AC?

Yes, building and suites are air-conditioned.

Do you have visitor parking?

We do not offer visitor parking, however, there is a parkade located right across the street so it’s easy for your family and friends to visit!

How far away am I from the U of A?

The U of A campus is a 2-minute walk from Laurent. Doesn’t get much better than that!
